An Ordinary Life, One Quiet Question
A year before she joined Elken, Khadijah Binti Ismail was living a life that looked like everyone else’s.
She worked hard every single day to provide for her family. But no matter how hard she worked, her mind kept circling back to the same worries: money, the future, and above all, her children. She longed to give them the best education she could, a more comfortable life, and wider opportunities than she had been given. And yet a quiet question followed her everywhere she went. Would her life ever truly change, or would it always stay exactly where it was?
The Dream She Was Afraid to Speak
Deep down, Khadijah carried a dream. She wanted freedom over her time and her finances. She wanted to be able to help her family and give a better life to the people she loved.
But she kept that dream to herself. She was afraid to say it out loud, worried that others would think her hopes were too lofty, or that such a life was simply impossible for someone like her.

But every time that disappointment came, she went back to the one thing that steadied her: remembering exactly why she had begun.
The Price Behind the Picture
People see the success today. What they don’t see is the price that was paid to reach it.
Khadijah gave up her rest. She gave up precious time with her family. She went out to work while others were enjoying their holidays, and she showed up to training after training, class after class, to become better at what she did. None of it was glamorous. All of it was the cost of a much bigger dream.
The Day Everything Shifted
The biggest turning point of her journey had nothing to do with a cheque.
It came the day she helped someone else create a real, positive change in their own life. In that moment, she understood that this journey was never only about income. It was about giving hope and opportunity to other people. From that realisation onward, her confidence grew stronger than it had ever been.

Khadijah’s greatest supporters were her family and her mentors, the people who believed in her even in the moments when she doubted herself.

To anyone standing where she once stood, unsure whether to begin, Khadijah’s message is warm and clear. Don’t be afraid to take that first step, however small it feels.
“You don’t have to be perfect to start. But you do have to start in order to see anything change.”
Every consistent effort, she says, carries you a little closer to the dream you’re reaching for. Believe in the process, hold on to your discipline, and keep moving forward, even if the steps are slow.
The Legacy She’s Building
Look 20 years ahead, and Khadijah knows exactly how she hopes to be remembered.
Not for what she earned, but for who she lifted. She wants to be known as someone who always helped others grow, who gave hope to people who had lost their direction, and who stands as living proof of one truth: success is within reach of anyone willing to learn, to work hard, and to refuse to give up easily.
From a woman who was once too afraid to speak her dream, Khadijah has become someone who helps others find the courage to chase theirs.
