| Would you clean your hands with hard liquor? Most people think hand sanitizers are safe. The reality is it contains a high level of alcohol (higher than most liquors) making it a hazard to health. It can cause intoxication especially for children who have the tendency to lick their hands or eat immediately after applying it. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are already banned in some schools in North America. Since a hand sanitizer contains a minimum of 60% alcohol, it only requires three squirts to make a toddler very ill. As it takes some time for hand sanitizers to dry once applied, there is ample time for a child to lick his hands and fall ill. So, if you don’t allow your children to drink alcohol, why would you allow them to use alcohol-based sanitizers? |
